The resident responded, “I’m no immigrant.” The mail carrier pointed and said, “You’re an immigrant.” The resident then asked, “And you too?” to which the mail carrier replied, “From America? From America.” The resident concluded the exchange by stating, “Oh, okay. But I come in here and I have papers, man.” The mail carrier then closed his truck door and drove away.

The resident’s shadow can be seen holding a phone to record the encounter.
The video captured a tense back-and-forth on a residential street. The resident repeatedly questioned the mail carrier’s actions and statements. The mail carrier’s questions about the resident’s immigration status were a central point of the confrontation shown in the clip. The resident firmly stated he had legal documentation, saying, “I have papers, man.”
