A TikTok creator known as CrowdSourceCarrie shared a video expressing her distress after watching a recent live TikTok session hosted by Don Lemon. In the video, she said she was upset by what she saw involving Florida political candidate Angie Nixon. The creator, who appears in the video speaking from inside a car, described Nixon as a brilliant and strong African-American woman running for office in Florida.
The video’s creator stated that Nixon was the subject of a racially charged attack on Twitter over the weekend. The creator identified the person behind the attack as Laura Loomer. On-screen text during the video displayed a Google search result identifying Angie Nixon as a Member of the Florida House of Representatives. The creator said Nixon “was fighting back tears today, and it broke my heart.”
CrowdSourceCarrie then directly addressed white women, stating, “As white women, we need to speak up. According to the video’s creator, we cannot allow this hatred and this racism to represent who we are.” She acknowledged that many people, including herself, dislike confrontation. However, she argued that speaking up does not require aggression. “Speaking up is simply just saying, hey, that’s not okay,” she said. “Sometimes it’s just standing beside the person that’s being attacked.”

CrowdSourceCarrie outlined several ways she suggested white women could respond. She said a person does not need to make a video or a big public statement. For those who are non-confrontational, she suggested starting by saying, “Hey, that’s not okay. This behavior is not okay.” She recommended beginning with small conversations in personal circles, such as with children, a spouse, or parents.
The creator emphasized the importance of addressing comments that are not okay. “Those small conversations that we as white women hear in our white women circles need to be called out, and it means not laughing at a racist joke and not participating in racist conversations,” she stated. She argued that silence has a consequence. “When we as white women don’t speak up, we are leaving women of color, People of color, standing alone,” she said. “It’s long past time we do our part and have their backs.”
She concluded with a message of encouragement for those afraid of saying the wrong thing. “Listen, when you speak out against racism, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Lead with your heart,” she said. “Know that you have a good heart and your heart is in the right place. If you’re too afraid that you’re going to say the wrong thing, just lead with your heart. We need to do better.”
