A video posted to TikTok by a user identified as “CE0,000,000,” who goes by the handle @technowceo, shows a confrontation between a customer and a hotel front desk employee over a food order. The video’s caption reads simply: “unbelievable.”

The footage appears to open with a first-person view from someone standing at what looks like a hotel reception desk, which is made of dark granite. On-screen text reads: “pov: you catch the front desk lady eating the food you doordashed.” The camera then pans to show a woman in a black long-sleeve top sitting behind the desk, who appears surprised.

The customer filming the encounter can be heard asking the woman for her Cash App, and she responds by asking if he has Apple Pay. The woman, who is referred to as the Front Desk Employee in the video, says she can send the money to someone else, but the customer tells her, “nobody’s setting you up for nothing, you know.”

The employee says she waited two hours before eating the food

The employee tells the customer that she didn’t spend $50 on Mexican food to “set you up,” and adds that she wasn’t expecting someone to wait two hours before walking into the break room to claim the order. The customer responds by saying, “but you ate somebody else’s food.”

The employee then asks, “I’m sorry, you ate somebody else’s food?” The customer clarifies, “Somebody ordered— what? That somebody is me. I ordered Mexican food.” The employee responds by asking, “You ate it, right? You ate somebody else’s food right?”

The employee explains her reasoning by saying, “Like I said, I waited for a long time for somebody to come and pick it up.” The customer replies, “That don’t matter. It don’t matter how long you waited.” The employee then says, “I don’t want to get into a back and forth.”

The employee acknowledges what happened, saying, “Okay, I admit it’s what I did. I understand. I do apologize. I’m really sorry.” She then offers to reimburse the customer for the order, saying, “I asked that you want to— want me to reimburse you, I’ll be happy to do that. I’ll give you the Cash App to send it to. Give me Cash App, I’ll send it to you right now.”

The video ends with the customer appearing to agree to give her his Cash App details, and the employee appears to be preparing to send the money as she looks down at her laptop.

Commenters react to the video

The video drew a number of responses in its comment section, with several people focusing on the employee’s claim that she had waited two hours before eating the food. One commenter wrote, “her at that 2 hour mark otw to the break room 😩😭😭😭,” while another added, “Her at 1 hour and 59 minutes.” Disputes over restaurant orders filmed for TikTok keep drawing commenters in, as a Twin Peaks waitress allegedly forgot one half of a couple’s order.

Others questioned the employee’s reasoning. One person commented, “So basically she said u snooze you lose??😭😭,” and another wrote, “not she put a time limit on your food.” One commenter pushed back on the two-hour claim, writing, “Yall don’t know why it took him 2 hrs. It’s HIS FOOD.” Another person predicted consequences for the employee, commenting, “She about to lose ha job.”
