A young woman, appearing to be the creator “cindy” with the handle @sayheycindy, recently shared a TikTok video reviewing cookies made by a Johns Hopkins football player. The video’s on-screen text read, “the best cookies in Baltimore are made by a Johns Hopkins football player?!”. Cindy began the video by showing two large, thick cookies, one topped with what appeared to be an Oreo and the other with caramel.

Cindy said in the video, “Look at how thick these cookies are.” She expressed admiration for the student athlete’s baking hobby, stating, “I think that’s so cool that he has a baking hobby.” She also added, “So jealous of people that can bake.”

She then presented four distinct cookie flavors. She identified one as a “cookies and cream cookie,” another as a “caramel coconut cookie,” a third as “the classic,” and a fourth as a “pumpkin spice cookie,” noting it was “just in time for fall.”

Cindy then performed a taste test of what appeared to be the cookies and cream cookie. She described the experience, saying, “I’m not experienced eating in the car, but let me do a first taste test.” After taking a bite, Cindy said, “Mmm! That’s so good.”

She elaborated on the cookie’s texture, stating it was “moist on the inside, but then the outside has a really, really good crust.” She then tried what appeared to be the caramel coconut cookie, remarking, “Wow, it’s not too sweet, like perfectly balanced.”

Cindy encouraged viewers to order from “Klaus Cookies,” stating they could find a link on “his page” for weekly “drops every Sunday.” She also noted that the cookies are available “not only for Hopkins students but anyone in the Baltimore area or nearby the Hopkins campus.” Cindy’s fall-flavored taste test is far from the only seasonal bake making the rounds on TikTok, as one creator found Starbucks’ pumpkin pie matched Trader Joe’s teeny tiny pie except for the cookie.

The video’s public caption, however, identified the business as @claudescookiesbaltimore on Instagram. The caption also stated that the owner, named Claude, is a Johns Hopkins senior who is also a football player. The caption further noted that he runs the business “on the side on top of all of his schoolwork and extracurricular.”

Cindy emphasized her support for small businesses, urging viewers to “go ahead and give him a follow as well.” She described the cookies as “so yummy” and said they were “really well made.” She added, “I can just tell a lot of passion and love goes in these cookies, and they’re also humongous.” Not every TikTok baking story ends this sweet, with a Tennessee woman finding metal inside Pillsbury biscuits she bought from Walmart.

The video’s caption echoed this sentiment, describing the cookies as “FANTASTIC!” The caption also claimed they are “sweet but not overly sweet, balanced, has a soft core yet a nice crust, and most importantly the flavors are GOOD.” The caption explicitly stated that the cookies are “available for pick up” and “not just for Hopkins students, it’s open for anyone in the surrounding area for pick up.”

Several comments on the video platform appeared to react to the creator’s review and the nature of the business. One commenter wrote, “This is how i find out hopkins has football.” Another user simply stated, “Claude is the GOAT.” A question about location read, “Where is this place? I couldn’t find ”Claude’s Cookies” on maps.” Other comments included, “It’s cracking me up how much your cadence is like Becca Bloom’s lol” and “Is it cakey given how thick/tall they are??” One user also commented, “i fear i would eat 5 in one sitting.”
