A TikTok user who goes by “Senoff” posted a video showing the view from a Delta flight as it descended through fog and rough weather toward Boston. On-screen text in the clip reads: “Jet Blue canceled flights landing in Boston, Delta said F–k IT, WE GOING!” The video shows the plane’s wing and dark blue tail fin as it appears to drop through thick mist over a foggy port area.

The footage appears to show choppy water below and a large industrial port with cranes and stacked shipping containers. The fog seems to obscure much of the distant cityscape, and the overall conditions look challenging for a landing. The video ends with the plane still in its descent, according to what the footage shows.

The video’s caption says: “Turbulence like being in a damn drying machine, but landed safely in Boston!! the caption says JetBlue canceled all their DC-to-Boston flights. Thank you @delta, I would’ve been stuck in DC until Monday!! #noreaster #boston #storm #delta #jetblue”. The caption indicates the flight originated in Washington, D.C.

Commenters debated which airlines cancel flights in bad weather

The video drew a range of responses from viewers, some of whom defended Delta and others who criticized JetBlue’s cancellation decisions. One commenter wrote: “delta has the most weather tested pilots on earth .most are ex navy/airforce”. Another said: “Welcome to Boston”.

A third commenter argued: “Jet Blue will cancel for a cloud in the sky…. now if frontier or Breeze cancels be concerned.” Someone else added: “Damn right!! Buckle up”. Another viewer wrote: “Everytime there’s a thunderstorm around South Florida and I drive by the airport, delta seems to be the only one that is still taking off 😂”.

One commenter noted: “Jetblue is based in Boston 🤣🤣”. Commenters said JetBlue cancels flights more readily than other airlines, though these are the personal views of the commenters and not verified claims about either airline’s operations. For passengers caught in these cancellation decisions, the disruption can stretch well beyond a single flight, as one woman spent nine hours at Newark Airport after being deplaned from two flights with her checked bag stuck on her original canceled flight.

The video appears to have been posted during a Nor’easter, based on the hashtag #noreaster included in the caption. The caption also references the storm with the hashtags #storm and #boston. The on-screen text in the video states that JetBlue canceled flights landing in Boston, while the caption says the video’s caption says JetBlue canceled all their DC ➡️ Boston flights. The video shows what appears to be a Delta aircraft descending through poor weather conditions, and the caption thanks Delta for getting the passenger to Boston. The debate over which carriers stand firm in bad weather is unlikely to fade, with airlines warning of summer flight cancellations over a fuel crisis.
