A video posted to TikTok shows a silver SUV lodged in the front of a single-story grey house in Beech Grove, Indiana, with the driver apparently claiming the vehicle was his and that the gas pedal had locked up. The clip, posted by the creator @catfishbilly5150, appears to show the driver retrieving a backpack from the vehicle and walking away from the scene as others on-site tell him he should not leave.

In the video, the driver is seen wearing a white tank top and red sweatpants. He appears to bend over to pick up a backpack from the passenger side of the crashed vehicle. A man wearing a neon yellow safety vest, who appears to be a worker or official at the scene, approaches and asks, “Hi, can I help you?”

The driver responds, “Yeah, it’s my f—ing house, b—h.” He then appears to try to explain what happened, stating, “I didn’t mean to, bro. The f—? The goddamn gas pedal f—ing locked up on me.” He adds, “Goddamn. I’m good. I got to go to a doctor’s appointment, bro.”

The driver walks away as others on scene advise him to stay

The man in the neon yellow vest advises the driver, “You probably shouldn’t be leaving, my guy.” The driver dismisses the warning, replying, “Who give a f—? I got sh– to do, bro. I got to go to—” before walking away from the scene carrying his backpack. The video’s caption includes the hashtags #fyp, #hitandrun, and #drappointment.

The footage shows significant damage to the front of the house, with the silver SUV embedded in the brick wall. The vehicle’s front left wheel appears bent, and debris including rocks and planters is scattered around the impact site. The vehicle’s front doors appear to be open, and the airbags appear to have deployed inside.

Several other men are seen gathered around the scene in the video. One man in an orange shirt and khaki pants appears to stand nearby observing the interaction, while an older man with a beard, wearing a grey shirt and green shorts, appears to be in the background recording the scene with his phone. The person recording the video says, “Damn, he just jumped the curb and everything.”

Viewers react to the footage on social media

The video has drawn a range of reactions from viewers in the comment section. One commenter wrote, “‘Can I help you’ while your car is in someone’s front door is diabolical 💀”. Another commenter referenced the driver’s claim about his home, writing, “\”yeah its my fucking house bitch\” 😂😂😂”.

Some commenters appeared to joke about the driver’s stated reason for leaving the scene. One wrote, “I don’t blame him 🤷🏾‍♀️.. If you’re more than 15 minutes late they make you reschedule 😂😂😭.” Another echoed the driver’s own words, writing, “\” i gotta go to the doctors appt \””.

One commenter speculated about the driver’s condition, writing, “bro under allll the influences”. Another commenter appeared to reference the house owner’s perspective, asking, “Who else came from the owner of the house pov?”. The video does not appear to show the home’s owner, and it is not clear from the footage whether the driver was in fact the homeowner or if the vehicle’s gas pedal locked up as he claimed. Roadside confrontations caught on camera often end with someone driving off before authorities arrive, as in a video where a person filming says they called police on a woman who left kids in a hot car but she drove away before officers arrived.
